SOCIAL NETWORK ANALYSIS: CONCEPT, MODELS AND RESEARCH CHALLENGES
Imamverdiyev Y.N.

Social networking services create new opportunities for social interaction of people and cause the emergence of new methods and techniques to influence on society. The paper analyses main concepts of social networks, the stages of formation of social network analysis and original ideas in this field, and points out the applications of social network analysis. Actual research directions in social network analysis are identified and the state-of-the-art of these problems is analyzed. (p. 9-20)

Keywords:social network, actor, social network analysis, weak ties’ strength, small world phenomena, scale-free network, large-scale network modeling, dynamic network analysis, multi-agent based social modeling.
