THE ROLE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CITIZEN SCIENCE

The article explores the role of social media in citizen science – a new emerging direction of e-science. It studies the development characteristics of citizen science, the activity of supporting international organizations and the role of Web 2.0 in the development of social media. The opportunities for using social media in the realization and development of citizen science are provided (pp.23-27).
