RELATIONSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT PERSPECTIVES OF CITIZEN SCIENCE AND VOLUNTEERS’ MOVEMENT

The article is dedicated to the issues of relationship and development perspectives of citizen science and volunteers’ movement. The characteristic features of citizen science and volunteers’ movement are highlighted. The current state of the volunteers’ movement in different countries, as well as in Azerbaijan are reveiewed. The benefits of volunteering both for society as a whole and particularly for the development of citizen science are investigated. Studies in the relevant field are examined. The role of modern information technologies in the relationship of the volunteers’ movement with citizen science and their mutual development is studied. The role of Industry 4.0 technologies, such as cyber-physical systems, IoT, cloud computing and edge computing in the development of citizen science and volunteers’ movement are investigated. The perspectives for the development of citizen science and the volunteers’ movement in connection with the application of the latest achievements in the field of ICT are shown. The article uses methods of scientific analysis, summarizing results and a systematic approach to the solution of the problems on the subject. The research results can be used for the development of citizen science, provision of inclusive participation in citizen science, as well as application of the modern technologies for this purpose (pp.130-137).
