CITIZEN SCIENCE AS A NEW DIRECTION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF E-SCIENCE
The paper is devoted to the conceptual issues of citizen science, which includes a large number of volunteers participating in data collection of wide range of space and time dimensions. The aim and features of citizen science are given; the role of ICT in its development is shown. Classifications and the typical model of e-citizen scientific projects are presented. We show that the propagation of these projects and the application of relevant projects in the solution of significant issues are of great importance in the Republic of Azerbaijan. (pp. 57-64)
